Condo Redesign: Breathing New Life into a Boring Space

This project transformed a two-story condo in Anchorage, Alaska, from bland to beautiful. The focus was on the main floor, including the entryway, dining room, and living room.

Issues:

The condo lacked personality and lacked furniture that fit the space. The homeowners' existing furniture from their previous home clashed with the condo's style.

Design Solutions:

  • Collaborative Approach: A key element was meeting with the homeowners to understand their vision and challenges.

  • Cohesive Interior Plan: This plan included a new color palette, a dining table set, a couch, accent chairs, and a refreshed coffee table (through repainting). We added new carpet tiles/rugs, light fixtures, artwork, and other decorative elements to create a complete look.

Interior Features:

The redesign created a cozy, whimsical, and functional open floor plan. We achieved this transformation through a combination of:

  • Strategic Color Scheme: A new paint color scheme likely played a big role in setting the overall mood.

  • Furniture Selection: New furniture pieces, including a dining table set, couch, and accent chairs, were chosen to complement the space and the homeowners' style.

  • Refinished Coffee Table: Repurposing the existing coffee table by repainting it added a touch of sustainability and potentially sentimental value.

  • Layered Furnishings: Carpet tiles/rugs, light fixtures, and artwork likely added personality, texture, and functionality.
