Cary M. King

Cary M. King uses his passion for problem-solving to create compelling design solutions that build and elevate brands. Cary’s approach to idea generation, combined with his expertise in visual design, marketing, and graphic production, results in high-impact creativity across mediums, including digital, print, and web. As a creative consultant, he facilitated with small businesses within the healthcare industry to achieve their marketing and business objectives.

Cary began his career in Anchorage, Alaska as a designer and senior art director working on high-profile accounts with local advertising agencies. He launched his own design business in 2002 and later merged with the talented Jill King to form one dynamic design studio, now known as Red Carrot Design, Inc.

Cary was previously an adjunct instructor in the Department of Art at the University of Alaska Anchorage, College of Arts & Sciences. About teaching, he says, “it was an excellent opportunity to inspire the next generation of designers, while also giving back to my alma mater.”

Cary’s creative contributions extend to his long-standing leadership with AIGA, the professional association for design. He was integral in founding AIGA’s Alaska chapter, was elected president in 2010, and is currently an advisor for the board of directors. Cary holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
